Confirm cash-on-delivery orders on WhatsApp before you ship them.
Pakka COD is a Shopify app for D2C stores in India and other markets where many buyers pay cash on delivery. It asks each COD buyer to confirm their order on WhatsApp, checks the shipping address, and gives every order an explainable risk score, so you can catch fake, mistaken and doubtful orders before they turn into RTO (return to origin).
Shopify App Store: coming soon
The app is not listed on the Shopify App Store yet. We will add the link here when the listing is live.
What it does
WhatsApp order confirmation
When a COD order comes in, the buyer gets a WhatsApp message with Confirm and Cancel buttons, plus reminders if they don't reply.
The order is tagged in Shopify with the result (for example cod-confirmed or cod-cancel-requested).
Bring-your-own WhatsApp: messages go from your WhatsApp Business account (Meta Cloud API or a compatible provider) using an approved template. Pakka COD has no sender of its own and does not send SMS.
Address checks
Every order's shipping address is checked for missing house numbers or landmarks, a missing city, placeholder text, and a missing or badly formatted PIN code (India). Other countries get generic checks.
Optional AI address check (off by default): if you turn it on, only the address lines, city, state, postcode and country are sent to Google's Gemini API. Never the buyer's name, phone or email.
Explainable risk score
Each COD order gets a 0–100 score with plain reasons: invalid phone, incomplete address, high value, bulk quantity, duplicate order in 24 hours, and the buyer's past RTOs and deliveries in your own store.
The app never cancels an order by itself. You decide.
Prepaid nudge Coming soon
After a buyer confirms, offer them an optional discount to pay online instead of cash. Paid plans only.
The settings exist, but the payment-link integration is not live yet, so no nudge messages are sent today.
How it works
- Install the app from Shopify and pick a plan. Billing goes through Shopify.
- In the app's Settings, connect your WhatsApp Business account: phone number ID, access token, app secret and an approved utility template with Confirm/Cancel quick-reply buttons. See the setup guide.
- New COD orders are scored and tagged. Orders at or above the risk level you choose get a WhatsApp confirmation.
- Buyer replies update the order's tags and notes in Shopify. You review cancellations and mark orders Delivered or RTO, which improves future scores for that buyer.
Pricing
Prices are in US dollars, billed every 30 days through your Shopify invoice. Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial. You can change or cancel your plan from inside the app.
| Plan | Price per month | WhatsApp-confirmed COD orders per month | Free trial | Prepaid nudge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 50 | – | No |
| Lite | $2.99 | 250 | 7 days | Yes (coming soon) |
| Growth | $5.99 | 1,000 | 7 days | Yes (coming soon) |
| Scale | $11.99 | Unlimited | 7 days | Yes (coming soon) |
Every plan includes WhatsApp order confirmation, address checks (including the optional AI check), the risk score, and order tagging.
WhatsApp conversation charges from Meta or your WhatsApp provider are billed to you by them and are not included in the plan price. Shopify may add taxes to your invoice.
Privacy in short
- We only ask Shopify for
write_ordersaccess. We don't read customer accounts or email addresses. - The buyer's phone number and first name are erased 30 days after the confirmation finishes. We keep only a keyed hash (per store) so your repeat-buyer RTO history keeps working.
- Address text is never saved; only a keyed hash is stored, for duplicate detection.
- WhatsApp message contents are never stored. Message records are deleted after 90 days and order records after 13 months.
- Buyers can reply STOP (or “band karo”) to stop messages, and you can opt buyers out yourself.
- When you uninstall, your WhatsApp credentials are wiped at once and all your store's data is deleted when Shopify sends its shop-erasure request (48 hours later).
